STEP 4
SCRIPTURE VERSE + LESSON
Today we’re learning about God’s power over death and the hope and joy of heaven. I have a question for you. Do you know what forever means? Forever means something that never ends! Did you know that God never ends? He has always existed and will continue to live forever! God is forever. God loves us and wants us to be with Him forever as well.
When Jesus lived on the earth, He told people, “Don’t worry – trust Me! There’s plenty of room in my Father’s home. I’m going to prepare a place for you…then I’ll come back and get you so you’ll always be with me.” That’s so cool! Jesus went to prepare – or make ready – a place for people who love and follow Him!
Jesus said He would come and get us. Because of what Jesus did and because of God’s love for us, someday all of Jesus’ friends can live in an incredible place called heaven with God and Jesus. That’ll be so cool! What do you think heaven will be like?
[OPTIONAL]
Go Deeper:
- Read the below Bible verses to gain a better understanding of what heaven will be like:
- John 14:2-3 – Dwelling with Jesus in Mansions
- Hebrews 12:22-23 – Heaven will be a city built for worship
- Revelation 7:9-10 – All nations and people will worship Jesus
- Revelation 7:15-17 – Heaven will be filled with peace, joy, and praise
- Revelation 21:9-11 – Precious gemstones will adorn heaven
- Revelation 21:21 – Heaven will have pearl gates and streets of gold
- Revelation 22:2 – The Tree of Life in heaven
- Revelation 22:4-5 – The Light of God in heaven
STEP 5
LESSON SONG
God’s gift of faith to us is a beautiful and precious ability to believe in an invisible God. This means that while He is real and invisible, faith helps us trust in all that He tells us in the Bible. Let’s take a moment to enjoy God’s creative beauty.
STEP 6
PRINTABLE ACTIVITY
Yeddy reminds us that, “God has the power to love us forever.” Click on the link below for a printable version of this coloring sheet.

CLOSING THEME SONG
There is nothing that can stop God’s love for you. Jesus defeated every obstacle that stands between you living with God forever. Listen to this song to get a glimpse of God’s mighty power.
STEP 8
CLOSING PRAYER
[OPTIONAL]
Go Deeper:
Encourage each member of your family to pray. This could be something that praises God for who He is, it could be a confession of sin, it could be something worth being thankful for, and/or it could be a request to God.
Dear Jesus,
You are more powerful than a mighty hurricane. You are the wisest of all and yet You are the most humble. Lord Jesus, we thank You for a great week of Vacation Bible School! Reading Your Word and singing many of the songs helped us grow closer to You. Help us as we put our trust in You, looking to You for courage and making You our source of hope. You made each of us for a reason and we thank You for loving us too. Help us always look to the Bible for Your plans for our life. We love You Jesus!
Amen!
